We do not operate temporary greens or tees. Therefore during the winter you can book your round safe in the knowledge that you will be putting on the best surface available and teeing off from grass and not an artificial surface.
We understand that not everyone can or wants to carry their bag anymore. During the winter we try and balance the needs of the course, with the expectation of members and visitors. Trolleys, both electric and push, can be used throughout the season. But, if the course still shows evidence of a white frost, hedgehog wheels must be used. The hedgehog wheel minimises damage from scarring / burning when compared to the traditional wheel that is smooth/flat.
During the winter period we would expect all buggies and trolleys to be kept well away from greens, green surrounds and approaches and tees. Not only does this prevent damage to the closely mown areas, it also provides you with a better surface to play off.
The Springs enjoys a riverside location, with the River Thames running alongside the 15th hole. Occasionally this can mean that fog is slow to clear. Play is considered dangerous when visibility falls to below 200 yards. If you cannot see the leaning pine, to the left of the 1st fairway, from the white tee on the 1st hole you must not tee off.
If an immediate suspension of play is required a prolonged blast from the klaxon will be sounded.
Please read the Buggy Hire page for full details on our policy and restrictions that may apply.
